The only guided horseback trail rides in the Mt. Hood National Forest start on the east side of the Mt. Hood Adventure Park at Skibowl. With experts leading the way, you can explore miles of alpine backcountry and old-growth forest.
Options include a quick 30-minute ride, a one-mile ride or longer treks by reservation that take you up to Historic Warming Hut at the top of Lower Bowl. There are also pony rides for little tykes.
No riding experience is required. Riders 8 and up can join a trail rider You can head out solo with our guides or in groups of ten people. A horse can accommodate weights up to 240. There’s also a stunning Belgian horse to accommodate larger riders, up to 375 lbs.
Rates are $49 for a half hour, $79 for an hour. With your Mt. Hood Adventure Park Pass. Rates are $35 and $65, respectively. Two-hour rides are $119 per person.
